Betty L. Stephanou

Betty Laspas Stephanou, 88, died on Friday, April 17 at CentraState Hospital in Jackson, NJ, where she had lived for the past 3 years with her daughter and family after the death of her husband of 49 years, Constantine D. Stephanou. Mrs. Stephanou was born and raised in Philadelphia, graduated from West Philadelphia High School, and worked as a bookkeeper before she was married. She met her husband in Greece, married there, and had 2 children before moving back with her family to Springfield, PA. She was active in the Democratic Party of Springfield. She loved her family and especially her grandchildren, Corinne and Andrew Conlin, of Jackson, NJ, and Caroline and William Stephanou, of Wexford, PA. She enjoyed reading, entertaining, and seeing friends and extended family. She is also survived by her daughter Susan S. Conlin, and her husband Charles of Jackson; son James C. Stephanou and his wife Jacquelyn of Wexford; sister-in-laws Mrs. Angela Laspas, of Collegeville, Mrs. Panigota Stephanou, and many nieces and nephews. 

Viewing 10-11am Saturday at St. Luke’s Greek Orthodox Church, 35 N. Malin Road, Broomall, PA.

Funeral 11am Saturday at Church.

Internment will be at Arlington Cemetary in Drexel Hill.
