Greta Yegyan (nee DerGazarian), 85, of Chalfont, Pa. (formerly of Springfield, Pa.) passed away peacefully on March 9, 2018. Born in Philadelphia June 15, 1932, she attended West Philadelphia High School and later Taylor Business School. She was a long time member of the Armenian Martyr's Congregational church where she served as the Women's Auxiliary President as well as writing for the Church Bulletin.
She was a loving friend, wonderful story teller, avid reader of history and biographies as well as a political enthusiast. Her children and grandchildren were her devotion, and she especially enjoyed summers in Brigantine and Avalon as well as travelling abroad with family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Hranoush and Haig DerGazarian as well as her husband Arthur Yegyan. She was the loving mother of Brenda Locher (Dave) and David Yegyan; devoted grandmother of Andrew, Sara and Caroline. She is survived by her sister Eleanor Gurdikian; niece Greta Wiley (Jeff); nephews Robert Gurdikian (Tina) and Ronald Gurdikian; great nieces Katherine Wiley, Greta Gurdikian, Michelle Gurdikian; and great nephew Brett Wiley.
Services will be held Tuesday March 13, 2018 at Armenian Martyr's Congregational Church 100 N. Edmonds Avenue Havertown, Pa 19083. The family will receive visitors beginning at 10 a.m. with services to follow at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Fernwood Cemetery in Lansdowne, Pa. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church.
