Maria Zanikos

Maria, known as yia yia to all, was born in Chios Greece in 1927. She emigrated to the U.S. with her parents Kostas and Virginia and siblings Irene and John after WWII. Maria was married to her late husband John "Zanis" of 44 yrs. in 1952. She is survived by her son Isodoros "Izzy", daughter-in-law Elaine, grandchildren John "Zanis", Maria and Demetrios. Maria loved knitting and sewing and made altar clothing for four churches in the U.S. and Greece as well as sewing clothing for her grandchildren, nieces and friends. The last 12 years where spent under the care of her extended family at Sunrise Assisated Living Westtown and Caring Hospice.
