Rose Jingozian was born on August 12, 1923 in Philadelphia, PA. She was the second of four children born to Toros and Siranoush Sagherian, immigrants who fled the Armenian Genocide. She grew up during a dark period in American history when the Great Depression and World War II exacted many challenges.
On February 6, 1942, she married Luke Jingozian, a good friend of her older brother John, and who was also a child of immigrants who had escaped the Genocide. The couple would eventually produce three sons, Andrew, Luke Jr. and Kenneth.
Over the years, she worked hard as a homemaker, assisted her husband in several businesses, worked as an Avon Lady, partnered with her sister, Marion, in a dress shop, and worked as a seamstress. After nearly 43 years of marriage, her husband passed in 1985.
She had a memorable persona, feisty and sure-footed, with a reputation for making her views conspicuously clear to those within earshot. Her passion for the color pink dominated her fashion sense, and seemed eminently consistent with her demeanor. To pay tribute to her fondness for it, her family, in celebration of her life, will wear pink in her honor.
A widow for nearly 33 years, she survived her parents, her husband, her three siblings, her oldest son, Andrew and her daughter-in-law, Maryanne. She will be sorely missed by her two remaining sons, Luke Jr. and Kenneth Jingozian, her daughters-in-law, Nancy, Denise and Astrid Jingozian, her grandchildren Michael Jingozian, Steven and Nicole Jingozian, Christianne and Diego Maya, Teresa and Brian Yacono and Kellie and Edward Brunton Jr., and her great-grandchildren, Cole Yacono, Tyler Jingozian and Maximilian Maya
