Spiro A. Zandes

Spiro A. Zandes suddenly passed away on June 25, 2016. He was the father of Jennifer and Stephen. He also was the brother of Mary Evangelatos-Jaxheimer, Voula Sidelsky and brother of Nick who lives in Hartford, Conn. Loving uncle of Georgia (Jasen) Huebsch and Eleni Evangelatos. Great-uncle of Jacob, Nikolas and Lucas-Panos Huebsch. He is Also survived by brother-in-laws Hank Jaxheimer and David Sidelsky and sister-law Trudy Zandes. Spiro graduated from Girard College in 1979. He was awarded a scholarship to Lincoln Technical School and graduated in 1981 with an Automotive Diesel Technology Certification. He also had a Amateur Radio License and belonged to "Voice of Idaho Club". He changed his career and spent the last 9 years driving tractor trailers over the road for Swift Transportation Co.  He will be surely missed by his family and friends. .We will all remember his smile, wonderful pictures of all the places he saw and shared with us and his beautiful hazel eyes. His funeral service will be 1pm Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at Annunciation-Evangelimos Greek Orthodox Church, 7921 Old York Road, Elkins Park, Pa. 19027  In lieu of flowers please send donations to Annunication/Evangelimos Greek Orthodox Church, "Memorial Fund".
