Theodore and Alice Mandras were together on his 91st birthday in September 2017 - as they were for all of their 64-year marriage. They passed one day apart - Ted, age 91, on December 27th and Alice, age 87, on December 28th at home in Broomall Pennsylvania. They left this earth together as they would have wanted and we know they are together again in heaven.
Theodore Evangelos Mandras was born on September 13th, 1926 in Philadelphia, PA and was one of nine children born to Evangelos and Pota (Kourelakou) Mandras.
Alice Mandras was born on June 4th, 1930 in Camden, New Jersey to Thomas and Fanni (Yankush) Costos.
Ted worked at Westinghouse as a Mechanical Engineer for 43 years in the Steam Turbine division. During his tenure, he served in the Navy during WW II and was honorably discharged, then attended night school at Drexel University to earn his degree. Ted and Alice were married on April 19th, 1953. They enjoyed raising their three children and spending time with their family and friends. Ted enjoyed playing golf, working as a handyman and singing in the choir, while Alice enjoyed homemaking, crafts, playing cards and going to the casino with her friends.
They are survived by their daughter Victoria, son Evan (Maria Laginhas), son Steven (Lisa Vincini), grandchildren Daniel, James and Lilliana. Ted is also survived by sister Martha Valko and brother William.
