Fotika Skrimbas passed away peacefully on April 05, 2024 at the age of 85. She was a devoted mother to Asterios (Olympia), loving grandmother to Fotini and George (Marianna) and cherished sister to Theoni and Athanasios. Fotika was preceded in death by her son Giorgios, husband Xristos, parents Giorgios and Evanthia, and siblings Androniki, Konstantinos, and Basilios.
Fotika was born on May 12, 1938 in Amygdalies, Grevena in Greece. As a child she survived WWII and the Greek Civil War. Upon marrying her husband Xristos, Fotika moved to Stavros, Veria in Greece where she started a loving family and wonderful home. She established and operated a successful loom knitting business she was extremely good at and passionate about. In 1979, Fotika and her family immigrated to the United States where she became a seamstress of exceptional skill, fervor, and vision.
Fotika had a strong faith and trust in God. She took immense pride as her role as a mother and grandmother, celebrating the achievements of her children and grandchildren with joy and unconditional support. Her entire world and everything she did revolved around her family.
With her passing we feel a great loss, and pain in our hearts but we are comforted by our faith, and our certainty that we will see her again. Καλό Παράδεισο, και καλή αντάμωση Yiayia Fotika! We love you!
