Ann P. Gjoka

September 22nd, 1930 ~ October 30th, 2019 (AGE 89)
Ann P. (Notskas) Gjoka, a long-time resident of the Marple Newtown area, died Wednesday the 30th of October peacefully at her residence.
Born in 1930, in LaBova, Albania, Ann moved to America in 1939. She was a graduate of West Philadelphia High School class of 1947.
Ann was the daughter of the late George and Hariklia (Kiki) Notskas. She was the wife of the late Joseph K. Gjoka. Ann is survived by her children, Joanne (Robert) Everett, Mark (Sandi) Brassell, her grandchildren, Laura (Matt) Jones, Krista (Matt) Sherwood, Andrea Brassell, her great-grandchildren Joshua, Elijah and Baylie, and sister, Linda Notskas. 
Ann was a devoted member of her church and long time member of the ladie's club, where she held and cherished her role as treasurer. She was also a valued member of the church chior, which brought her joy for many years. Ann worked various jobs throughout her life in customer service. She was a bookkeeper for Charlotte's restaurant in Newtown Square Pa, and at Rose Hill Apartments in West Goshen, Pa. After leaving Rose Hill, she worked in the cafeteria in the Marple Newtown High School and Culbertson Elementary School until her retirement in 2009. She thrived to help others.
Ann had many hobbies and joys during her life. She loved shopping, especially when buying her family gifts. She also enjoyed watching jeopardy, reading, crocheting and cooking large Albanian meals. In her earlier days, she enjoyed playing cards with her card group and bowling in her bowling league. 
She was a strong willed and caring women. She would do anything for her family. She lived to hear her great grandchildren tell her stories and she loved to sing to them and give them hugs and kisses.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. John's Chrysostom. 
Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Mass 11 A.M. Wednesday, November, 6th at St. John's Chrysostom Albanian Orthodox Church, 237 N. 17th St, Philadelphia, PA  19103 where friends may call 10 A.M. at the church also.  Interment Ferwood Cemetery.
