Anne M. Shiomos
April 2, 2017It is with profound sadness that we announce that Anne M. Shiomos, 89, passed
away Saturday, April 2, 2017.
She was born May 14, 1928 in Philadelphia, PA, the daughter of the late Harry and
Sofia (Trantas) Mathios.
Anne physical grace and beauty were matched by her compassionate heart. She was
a gentle lady, with an elegance that flowed from her intrinsic goodness and was
evidenced by her benevolence toward everyone she knew.
She walked through life without any pretense or affectation; she never displayed
any coyness or cynicism. Her life was bound up in her Greek heritage, her belief in
family, and her faith in God.
She treated everyone she knew with the same sense of good manners, caring,
openness and generosity of spirit. It seemed as though she had reached a form of
serenity that so few people experience. She was loved and she will be missed.
Anne is survived by her daughter, Victoria A. Fichera and her husband Ronald, and
her son, Nicholas; her sisters, Helen Lutz and Estelle Mathios, and her brother
Philip Mathios; her grandchildren Mark and Blake Fichera, and her grandson,
Dustin, and her nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Anne was predeceased by her husband, Thomas N.
