James Lemperes Obituary

James F. Lemperes

James F. Lemperes was born on June 15, 1935 of Wynnewood, PA he passed away suddenly on October 15th. He was the son of the late Sophia (nee Angelos) and Frank Lemperes.  He is survived  by his wife Linda; his son Frank; his daughter Sofia Sosangelis and son-in-law Stephen Sosangelis; his grandchildren Alaina and Dean, and his sister Nora Sellick

Born in Philadelphia, PA, Jim attended Bartram High School.  He was a proud graduate of  Villanova University class of 1956 and attended Georgetown Law School.

Jim had a distinguished business career.  It started with RCA in computer sales. He then worked at Fidelity Bank in Philadelphia where he was tasked with creating a government affairs division for the bank where he was instrumental in bringing state-wide banking to Pennsylvania. He moved on to become a regional director of government affairs for Philip Morris, USA, where he was responsible for all overseeing industry affecting legislation in seven states and the District of Columbia.  Jim retired from Philip Morris in 2003.  Jim’s contributions not only made an impact on the businesses he served but the also the people that he worked with.  He retired in 2003.....all good after that.

Jim truly was a wonderful man.  He was devoted husband and father and adored his grandchildren.  He lived life to the fullest, he loved to play golf with his buddies, eat great food, drink good scotch, and smoke cigars. He had a passion for knowledge, he loved to read books and listen to opera, and always interested in a good political discussion.  Jim was a wonderful combination of intellect, warmth and friendship that resulted in an ability to command a room and simultaneously engage in an intimate one-on-one conversation that was always personal in some way.
