Mary Boyajian, 94, passed away on February 23 in Bryn Mawr, PA.
A native of Philadelphia, Pa and longtime resident of East Lansdowne, Pa and Drexel Hill, Pa ,
Mary graduated from West Philadelphia High School and completed an Associate Program at
Temple University.
Mary was a pioneer in the early days of television, working on the technical aspects of
delivering network transmissions over the air in Philadelphia. She spent the majority of her
working career employed by Philco Ford and then subsequently by Honeywell.
Mary was a treasured member of her family, giving tirelessly and selflessly to the care of her
grandparents, parents, aunts, and uncles. She was always a beacon of optimism and joy to her
sisters, nieces, nephews, and many friends. She was an accomplished cook and choir member
who actively served the St Sahag and Mesrob Armenian Church for more than 70 years.
Born to survivors of the Armenian genocide, Mary inherited their perseverance and was
determined to make the best of any situation that she might encounter. Mary had a contagious
love of life. Anyone she encountered could not help but be uplifted by her spirit.
Mary is survived by her sisters, Virginia Boyajian and Helen Parseghian, her nieces and nephews
Barbara Boyajian, John Boyajian, James Boyajian, and Gregory Parseghian, and by her great
nephews Gregory Parseghian Jr., Alexander Parseghian, and Adam Boyajian.
Her funeral service will be 10am Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at St. Sahag and St. Mesrob Armenian Church, 630 Clothier Road, Wynnewood Pa., 19096.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Sahag and St. Mesrob Armenian Church.
