It is with profound sadness that the family of Peter Tsatalis announces his passing. Peter fell asleep in the Lord on April 18, 2018 at the age of 95 with his loved ones by his side. May his memory be everlasting.
Peter was the beloved husband of Anne for 55 years, cherished father of James (Catherine) Tsatalis, M.D. and Marina (Michael Blackton) Tsatalis, and adored pappou to his five precious grandchildren, Andrea, John, Peter, Anne, and Nicholas, in addition to several nieces and nephews and extended family. He is already missed tremendously by his family.
Peter and his family are long-standing members of the Church of the Annunciation for more than 50 years, and his faith was unwavering. He came to the United States from Greece alone, after serving in the Greek National Army during WWII and being awarded the Military Cross. A self-made man, Peter started his own very successful tailoring business in Philadelphia with a notable clientele. He was a perfectionist and a reputed master of his trade, and his impeccable appearance reflected his talents.
Peter never lost his charisma and incredible sense of humor, and he was beloved by all who met him. He made friends wherever he went and he brightened every room. He was further defined by his bravery, resilience, and determination. He never gave up.
Peter beamed with pride at his greatest accomplishment, his loving family, to whom Peter’s passing is a profound loss.
Family and friends are invited to attend the viewing to be held on Monday, April 23 from 11:30-12:00 at the Church of the Annunciation, 7921 Old York Road in Elkins Park, followed by funeral services at 12:00. Internment will be held at Lawnview Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Church of the Annunciation.
We extend our love and sympathy to the Tsatalis and Blackton families for the peaceful repose of Peter Tsatalis.
