Athena Lolosides passed away peacefully on Monday May 20, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. Athena was born in Servia, Greece to Christos and Panagiota Stefanou. Devoted wife to the late Efstathios Lolosides and loving mother to Olga (Anastasios) Peppas, Alex and Christos. Adored grandmother to Georgie. Sister to the late Maria Sidiropoulos, who were inseparable. Loving aunt to Lazarus (Polixeni, Sokratis, Maria) Sidiropoulos.
She was an active member of St. Demetios Greek Orthodox Church where she found peace and fulfillment volunteering her time to the Philoptochos. She was known for her talent and love for baking.
Her biggest focus was her family's well being. While her greatest role was being Georgie's yiayia. She took pride and joy in helping raise her one and only grandson. In July of 2022 she was diagnosed with CNS Lymphoma. She battled for two years all white keeping her and her family’s spirits high, never losing faith and being a paradigm for courage and strength.
Family and friends are invited to view Thursday May 23, 2024 from 10-11am at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 229 Powell Ln., Upper Darby, PA 19082. Her funeral service will begin promptly at 11am. Interment top follow in Fernwood Cemetery, Lansdowne, PA.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the church.
