Becky Lascarides Leventelis
Becky Lascarides Leventelis departed her loving family on March 16, 2022 at the age of 92.
Becky was born in Millville, New Jersey on October 11, 1929 to James and Anna Lascarides, and grew up in the neighboring bucolic and historic community of Salem, New Jersey with her parents and twin sisters Tina and Chrissie. Her father owned “Jim’s” the well-respected local soda fountain and homemade candy store. She often reminisced and spoke fondly of her time in South Jersey spent with family and friends. She spent almost every summer at the shore with her family, both growing up and raising her own family. She married Emanuel “Manny” Leventelis in 1956, and moved to Philadelphia. They spent the next 65 years together filled with faith, understanding and love.
Becky was mother to Steven, James and Nikki. She raised her children with love and devotion in suburban Philadelphia with Manny. Her faith, kindness, empathy, inner beauty, passion and selflessness defined her life. This was reflected in those she loved and the beauty around her.
She is survived by husband Manny, children Steven, Jimmy (Louise) and Nikki Serafim (Taso), her sister Tina Paninos (Steve), her grandchildren Alexia Serafim, Manoli Leventelis, Marianthi Leventelis, and John Serafim, her nieces and nephews Greg Paninos (Lisa), Ginny Seiss Child (John), Mark Paninos (Keri), Liz Seiss, Christine Paninos Salzman (Fr. Anthony). She is preceded by her sister Chrisanthe Seiss (Constantine).
She is now among the angels above watching over us.
