On June 12, 2023, Burhan Gider, 85, passed into God's care while being surrounded by his family in his home. Burhan was born on January 1, 1938 in Dikranagerd, Turkey from his parents Dikran and Zora.
Burhan was the older brother of Antranig. He is survived by his wife Anjel (Dasmis) Gider, his 2 daughters Verjin (husband Aram Kazanjian) and Mari (husband Mikail Degirmenci), and 2 sons Antranig (wife Kim Gider) and Dikran (Roula Vengelis). He is survived by 7 grandchildren—Mikail, Ani, Rita, Armen, Gabriella, Alex and Christina. He is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren—Mikail, Roupen, Izabel, Richard, Alesso and Amali.
Burhan’s passion for custom tailoring began at the early age of 9 in Dikranagerd, where he apprenticed for a local tailor shop. He married his true love Angel in 1956, and shortly after the birth of their first child, he opened his custom tailor shop, Paris Tailors. As his business grew to include clientele ranging from professional athletes to news anchors, Burhan began making frequent trips to Istanbul in search of larger stores to allow him to further grow his operation. Eventually, Burhan partnered with his son-in-law Aram to launch Paris Clothiers Inc. in Ardmore, Pennsylvania, which sold and created ready-made suits for local clients to professional athletes. With their own showrooms to brands like Nordstrom, JCPenney, Burlington Coat Factory, and more, Burhan and Aram started to wholesale sales to major cities including New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Dallas, and Atlanta.
Burhan was kind, loving and devoted to his family. He was humble, honest and a hard worker. He enjoyed traveling to Turkey every summer with his wife. He enjoyed good food and spending time with his family and friends. He looked forward to going to our community center every Friday to play cards with his friends.
