Christopher Morkides Obituary

Christopher L. Morkides of Wilmington, Delaware, born June 6, 1957, formerly of Philadelphia and Upper Darby, passed away on May 20th, 2025.
Chris is survived by his wife, Alisa Morkides and daughter, Kina, sister, Jamie (Teddy) Karapanagiotides, nephews Evan (Katie) and Louie (Stefania) as well as several grandnieces and nephews and many other devoted familyand friends. He is predeceased by his sister Tina, and his parents Louis and Despina Morkides.
Chris grew up in West Philadelphia and attended Masterman Middle School, where he made lifelong friends. His family later moved to Upper Darby, where he attended Upper Darby High School. Chris had multiple professions throughout his life as a sportswriter, lawyer, mental health counselor and author. He earned his undergraduate degree at Penn State with a Bachelors degree in Journalism, a law degree at Drexel University, and a Counseling degree at Immaculata. Chris was an avid writer and dedicated his last few years to self-publishing four mysteries and political thrillers.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Thursday, May 29th at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church at 229 Powell Ln, Upper Darby Township, PA 19082 Home, from 12-1PM..  His funeral service will begin promptly at 1 pm.  Interment to follow in Ss. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA 19064.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Chris’ memory to the American Heart Association; https://donatenow.heart.org/
