Dimitrios Papakonstantinou passed away peacefully on February 28th, 2022 at the age of 73.
Dimitrios “Jimmy” was born in 1948 and raised in the village of Neapoli, Kozani in Greece. He married his wife Evagelia (Tsakavela) in 1973.
He immigrated to the United States in 1974 and was eager to live the American dream. He quickly began working in the restaurant industry and would later open and operate several of his own pizza shops until his retirement.
His life was renewed and reenergized with the birth of his granddaughters Evangelina and Demetria to which he was the greatest grandfather aka “papou” to. He loved spending as much time as he could with them or on video calls when he could not be with them in person.
The rest of his time was spent on his favorite hobby: painting. He enjoyed painting abstracts, portraits, landscapes and stills (from fruit baskets to florals). He loved sharing his artwork as gifts to his family and friends. He was a PAOK fanatic. He closely followed his favorite soccer club by watching and listening to every match, along with everything in between related to PAOK.
He is survived by his wife, Evagelia “Angie”, daughter, Peri Browne (spouse Michael Browne) and son, Chris Papakonstantinou (spouse Melissa Kohler), sister Maria Iatropoulo (Panaioti). He is preceded in death by his parents Christos and Peristera, and brother Ioannis.
He was loved by all those that knew him and will be deeply missed.
