It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Dina Haritonidis, who peacefully passed away at the age of 90 on the night of September 28, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was a devoted mother to Katherine (Dimitrios) Papatsiaras, Basilios Haritonidis, and the late Aristidis Haritonidis. A beloved Yiayia to Dina, Christina, Niko (Courtney), Aris, and Stelio, and proud Big Yiayia to great-grandchildren Dimitrios and Stella. Dina was born on March 3, 1934, in Patra, Greece, and on March 1, 1959, she married the love of her life, Stylianos, before they immigrated to America and made Upper Darby their home.
Dina was a kind and devoted woman who lived her life with love, generosity, and passion for the things that brought her joy. Gifted with a green thumb, Dina spent countless hours in her garden, tending to flowers and plants that bloomed as vibrantly as her spirit. She found peace and happiness in the simple beauty of nature and could often be found outdoors, caring for her garden. She was a seamstress for over 30 years, deeply devoted to her church and was also a gifted baker- known for her delicious homemade treats.
In her free time, she was an enthusiastic fan of professional wrestling, cheering for her favorite wrestlers with as much passion as she brought to everything in her life. Her unique combination of interests, from her love of baking to her enjoyment of wrestling, was just one of the many things that made Dina such a special and unforgettable person.
Above all, Dina’s greatest joy in life was her family. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She was the cornerstone of the family, always there with a listening ear, sage advice, and unconditional love.
Dina’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew her, especially her family, who will miss her deeply. Her love, strength, and warmth touched everyone she met, and her legacy of kindness and generosity will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her. May she rest in peace, knowing that her spirit lives on in the hearts of those she loved so dearly.
