Dolores Bieter of Havertown, PA, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on December 10, 2023 at the age of 92. Dolores led a life full of love, joy, and faith.
She was born on March 16, 1931 in Philadelphia, PA to Helen and Arthur Gerard. Dolores was preceded in death by her husband, Walter M. Bieter, and her brother, James (Joan) Gerard. She is survived by her three children, Walter J. (Mary) Bieter, Dr. Deborah Bieter-Schultz, and Daniel (Dorothy) Bieter, as well as her brother Arthur (Beverly) Gerard. Dolores was a cherished grandmother to seven grandchildren - Nicole Schultz Powell (Steve), Christopher Bieter (Maggie), Jennifer Bieter (Nate Brown), Daniel W. Bieter, Maeve Bieter, Patricia Bieter, and Kieran Bieter - and eight great-grandchildren – Hunter Powell, Logan Powell, Nicholas Powell, Patrick Bieter, Connor Bieter, Jack Bieter, Carter Brown, and Adelyn Brown.
A graduate of West Catholic Girls' High School, Dolores worked at TV Guide, ITE circuit breakers, and The Bulletin. However, she was most dedicated to her role of homemaker, caring for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Throughout her life, Dolores exemplified a spirit of generosity and community involvement. She volunteered her time to Hilltop Swim Club, Lower Merion Aquatic Club, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and St. Pius X School and Church, reflecting her deep commitment to her faith. Dolores enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s sporting events, hosting Sunday family dinners, gatherings at the Country Squire, visiting with friends and neighbors, and relaxing in the living room for endless hours of laughs. She found her greatest joy in time with her family and creating lasting memories on many trips, most recently to Disney World just 4 weeks ago.
Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing 9am Friday, December 15th at St. Pius X Church, Broomall, PA 19008. Her Mass of Christian Burial will begin promptly at 10am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Dolores will be remembered as a dedicated mother and grandmother, and a caring friend who truly enjoyed life through her 92 years. She leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, and a life well-lived.
