Katina Christoforidis passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at the age of 96 on June 20, 2023. She was the devoted mother of George (Margarita) and loving grandmother to Katrina and Lee (Amanda) as well as overjoyed great grandmother to Athena. Katina was preceded in death by her husband Pantelis Christoforidis, her parents Stavros and Despina Kiamlidis and her brother Sava. 

Katina was born on January 25, 1927 in Veria, Greece. Upon marrying her husband Pantelis, Katina moved to Katerini where she established a beautiful home and loving family. Katina was a seamstress of exceptional skill and vision. She established a boutique in Katerini that was well respected. Katina and her family immigrated to the United States in 1969 where she continued to apply her seamstress skills. Through her loyalty, kindness and strength, Katina secured friendships that lasted a lifetime in her new homeland. Upon retirement, Katina and Pantelis returned to their beloved Katerini and would travel back and forth each year. She would make the trip each year until the age of 93. 

Katina, with her talent, dedication and strong work ethic pursued excellence in every thing she did. She priorized her faith, community, and family above all. Katina was the respected matriarch of her family whose love and devotion were a constant. 

Kalo paradiso Yiya Katina! You lived your life with grace and faith and you will be sorely missed. 

Family and friends are invited to view  from 10-11am  Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 229 Powell Lane, Upper Darby, Pa. 19082.  Funeral Service to begin promptly at 11am.  Interment to follow in Fernwood Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the church in her memory.
