Lefteris Haselidis left us after a year long battle with cancer. Lefteris was a big part of the Greek Community of the Tri-State area for many years.
He brought us all together through his singing at the Bouzoukia, at weddings, baptisms and Greek nights.
He touched many people's lives with his gift to entertain and shared with so many people their most happiest moments.
He was kindhearted, with a warm smile and an infectious laugh.
He was the youngest of 12 children and was born in Gastouni, Greece. He came to Philadelphia in the late 70s where he began his singing career, met his wife and started a family. He produced two records and performed with many famous singers throughout the years.
Lefteris loved hot dogs, cheesesteaks, the beach, and dogs (especially his beloved Kojack and Roxy) and spending time with his family and friends.
He was predeceased by his wife Peggy Kostomite, parents Nikos and Stella Haselidis and brother John Haselidis, as well as many other siblings in Greece.
He is survived by his children Stella Haelidis, Nikos Haselidis, Christina Haselidis and grandchildren Aliki and Yianni.
He is also survived by his sisters Sofia Zarbalas, Spiridoula Geraniou, Despina Antoniadi and Polixeni Kandilanafti as well as many other nieces and nephews who adored him.
May his memory be eternal. He will be truly missed by so many and he is now singing with Angels. Το βράδυ θα γίνει χαμός εδω μέσα.
Friends and family are welcome to attend his visitation from 10am to 11am Tuesday, 4-13-21 at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 229 Powell Ln, Upper Darby, PA 19082, His funeral will take place at 11am.
