Elias Apostolopoulos was born on October 10,1936 in his homeland Patra, Greece. He
left school at a young age and went on to apprentice for his uncle to learn the craft of becoming
a tailor. In his early twenties while working as a tailor, he met his beloved wife Christina Mylonas
(Apostolopoulos) who was a seamstress. Elias and Christina were married in Patra and soon
after immigrated to Upper Darby, Pennsylvania. The two expanded their family with the addition
of their two children, George and Maria.
Upon his move to America, Elias continued to expand on the skills his uncle taught him
as he worked as a tailor at Men’s Clothing Store Morvill in Center City, Philadelphia. After 12
years, Elias moved on to work at another men’s clothing store in Media, Pennsylvania for an
additional 15 years. For the next 25 years, Elias and Christina fulfilled their dream of opening
their own tailoring business, Elias Expert Tailoring and Dry Cleaning in Havertown,
Pennsylvania. In addition to his love for tailoring, Elias enjoyed a nice meal while watching
soccer. Elias took pride in watching his family prosper and grow.
Elias is survived by his children, George (Jenny) Apostolopoulos and Maria (Thanasi)
Lampros. He was also a proud grandfather to his five grandchildren Christina Apostolopoulos,
Chrisovalantis Apostolopoulos, Elias Apostolopoulos, George Lampros, and Elias Lampros.
