Esther Momjian Obituary

Esther Momjian, age 88, entered her eternal life on January 16, 2025. She was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on July 12, 1936.  Esther was the daughter of Hagop and Arousiag (Deukmedjian) Gostigian and the younger sister to the late Rosemary Sahatjian (Albert Sahatjian). She attended the Drexel Institute of Technology.
For 57 years, Esther was the devoted wife to the late Albert Momjian, Esq.  They met in Asbury Park, New Jersey.  They lovingly raised three children: Carol Momjian (Michael Hanamirian), Mark Momjian (Melineh Vartany), and Thomas Momjian.  Esther and Albert were the proud grandparents to five grandsons: David, Michael Jr., Gregory, Maxwell, and Miles.  Esther was the sister-in-law to the late Set Momjian (Joan Reed).  She adored her nieces and nephews.
Esther and Albert enjoyed a wonderful, productive life of service.  For decades, they were associated with the Armenian Missionary Association of America (AMAA) and travelled extensively in support of the AMAA’s worldwide programs.  Esther served as a board member to the Family Service of Philadelphia, Plays for Living, the Jenkintown Day Nursery, and the League of Women Voters of Northeastern, Pennsylvania.  She also served as a Daughter of Vartan for many years.
In addition to attending all their children’s and grandchildren’s events and activities over the years, Esther and Albert enjoyed the Jersey shore, where Albert was born and raised.
