George C. Mitoulis passed away peacefully on November 4th, 2022. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was born in 1928 in Dafni aka Dramasta, Greece. He was a veteran of the Korean war representing the Greek forces of NATO. After serving in the military, he decided to bring himself and his wife to pursue the American dream. Arriving by boat in the 1950’s at Ellis Island he settled in the Philadelphia area. After coming to America, he resumed his career as a carpenter while growing his family with the birth of his son followed 10 years later by his daughter. Over the years, as he grew his family here in America, he also brought all his existing family over from Greece. George was very proud of his Greek heritage and was a staple in the Greek community. He was a fixture of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, not only serving in an official capacity, but also dedicating his life in many ways.
He is survived by his wife loving Penny “Lopi”. He is the loving father of Constantine and the late Maria. As well as his beloved grandson George.
Friends and family are welcome to attend his viewing from 10am to 11am Friday, at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 229 Powell Ln, Upper Darby, Pa 19082. His funeral service will follow at 11am in the church. Interment will follow at Fernwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name may be made to the church.
