Glenn Shafer, 75, passed away on August 3, 2021. He was born and raised in Upper Darby with his sister, Klida, and later moved to Drexel Hill. He worked for Gulf Oil/Chevron/Sunoco for 29 years and finished his career at West Chester University in the Bursar’s Office. He had a lifelong love of bowling and was in a multitude of leagues in Delaware County. Most recently, he was a member of a senior league at Sproul Lanes. He was an avid collector of coins, baseball cards, and Matchbox cars. He loved his Philadelphia sports – especially the Eagles and Phillies – and he passed this love onto his sons. Glenn was happiest while watching his sons play sports throughout their school years. He loved watching his grandchildren grow up. He was a wonderful man who will truly be missed by his family and friends.
Glenn is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Dotti, his sons, Andrew (Stephanie) and Doug (Theresa), his daughter-in-law, Alexis (Sam), his sister, Klida Shank (Paul), his grandchildren, Mason, Mila, Zoey, Ryder, and Eva; as well as many other family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his beloved son, Sam Shafer.
