James Dimitri Bendo died peacefully surrounded by his family on January 25th. He was born 9-4-1940 in Philadelphia, Pa. He is predeceased by his mother and father, Klanthi and Kosta Bendo of Albania, his brother Pascal and sister Pandora. He was a graduate of Temple university and worked 42 years at Boeing. James was a very kind, gentle, intelligent, funny, and respectful man. He loved his friends, his church, the Phillies, horse racing and travel. But most of all he loved his family. James held many titles in his life from engineer to sports enthusiast; but his favorite role was being a father and grandfather. He was a devoted, loving, husband of Paula “Cokos” for 57 years. Loved by his children Alexandra (Robert)Fiss, Marc (Christi), and Andre (Christine) and grandchildren Andrew, Kevin, Caroline, Liam, Madeline, Aidan, Lauren and Allison.
Friends and family are welcome to attend his viewing from 11am to 12 noon, Tuesday, 1-30-2024, at St. John Chrysostom Albanian Orthodox Church 237 N. 17th St. Philadelphia, PA 19103. His funeral service will take place at noon in the church. His interment will follow the funeral service in Fernwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name may be made to the church.
