John (James) Ghicondey 90 of Springfield, PA on Friday May 28th, 2021. He is survived by his wife Roxane whom together would have celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary in June. He is also survived by his son Peter (Nancy), granddaughters Christina and Brittany (Sean McCloskey), and nephews Steven and John. He is predeceased by his brother Spiro along with their parents Peter and Anastasia.
Born and raised in both North and West Philadelphia, "Jim" was a Veteran of the United States Coast Guard, serving active duty in New London CT, the Labrador Sea along Greenland, and the US territory of Panama Canal. He is part of a generation of American heroes that puts and keeps the United States of America first for the sole love of their country's success, exhibited by working in both the defense and nuclear industries four (4) decades thereafter.
Friends and family are welcome to attend both his viewing (beginning at 11:00AM) and funeral at 12 Noon, Saturday June 5th, 2021 at St. John Chrysostom Albanian Orthodox Church, 237 N. 17th St. Philadelphia, PA 19103. Internment immediately thereafter at Fernwood Cemetery.
When arriving at the church you will be guided into the Catholic Archdiocese Parking Lot across from the entrance of St. John's main entrance on 17th Street.
