Konstantinos Davidis Obituary

Konstantinos Davidis, beloved father and grandfather, passed away on February 28, 2026 at the age of 96.

Affectionately known as “Kostaki” and “Kosta”, he was born in Greece in 1929.  Following a tumultuous and war-torn childhood, he came to the United States, where he was given the new name of “Gus” upon his immigration.

His early years here included some college, as well as work as an industrial painter and cook.  He worked hard and owned several restaurants over the course of his career, taking care of his family and putting his two daughters through college and graduate school.

His family was the joy of his life.  He was the best father and grandfather imaginable and a friend to so many people.  His sense of humor was legendary, injecting fun into every day and creating a home filled with laughter.  His kindness was quiet but effective, as he would help anyone in need without being asked. His cooking and baking were added gifts, satisfying everyone who was lucky enough to partake.

He is survived by his daughters, Maria (husband, Michael Jones-Correa) and Georgia, as well as his grandchildren, Konstantine, Miranda, Ari, and Niki. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Niki, and all three of his siblings, Elli, Sophia, and Eric.

Services will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2026 at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 229 Powell Lane, Upper Darby, PA 19082, with a visitation from 10-11am and his funeral service beginning at 11am.  Interment to follow in Arlington Cemetery, 2900 State Rd., Drexel Hill, PA 19026.

Flowers may be sent to St. Demetrios in his honor on March 5, 2026 or, in lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, https://saintdemetrios.org/ , or to a place of worship aligned with your beliefs.

May his memory be eternal. His life endures in the family and friends who loved him and the kindnesses he bestowed on so many people.

Per the family's request there will be no driving procession from the church to the cemetery.  You are invited to drive to the cemetery on your own and meet us inside the front gate.  Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
