Kyriakos "Cary" Mossaidis Obituary

Kyriakos Vasilios Mossaidis March 15, 1937 - March 24, 2023

Kyriakos Mossaidis, 86, was called to God on Friday, March 24 in Bryn Mawr, PA.

Kyriakos is survived by his three children, Basil Mossaidis, Peter Mossaidis, and Elizabeth Neal, and his six beautiful grandchildren, Kyriakos Mossaidis,Maximos Mossaidis, Maya Santana, Ersy Neal, Daphne Neal, and Alexandra Bieleski. Kyriakos was godfather to over 14 Greek Orthodox faithful.

He was a proud Hellene, and a loving father, grandfather, and husband to his wife, Ersy (Kambouroglou) Mossaidis, who sadly passed away in 2004.

We pray that they are together in paradise. Kyriakos was born in Barzaryic, Romania and came to the United States in 1955 as a teenager. He settled in Philadelphia. He attended West Philadelphia High School as a senior to get his language certification and diploma. He attended Villanova University for three years before serving his new country in the United States Army 1959-1962. He was a proud American. He served his community and church. He was part of the parish council when St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church of Upper Darby was being built in 1965. Kyriakos served many committees and social groups in Philadelphia. He taught us how to interact with people well and love of country.

He believed in the American Dream. He worked for many years as a travel agent bringing over 10,000 Greeks to the United States in the early part of 1970’s.

May God grant him forgiveness and accept him into his kingdom with open arms where he can join other members of our departed family.
