Louis Boras Obituary

Louis G. Boras

Louis Boras passed away quietly on October 5, 2022.  Louis was born January 29, 1934, to the late Christina and Constantinos Boras.  He was the father of Peter (Annmarie), Christopher (Kathleen) and Stephen (Adele) Boras, and has five wonderful grandchildren- Maxwell, Christina, Ethan, Nicholas, and Thomas.  He was raised in Philadelphia along with his sister Joan.  He attended West Philadelphia High School and enlisted in the US Army, serving our country during the Korean Conflict.  After the war, he returned to Philadelphia and married the late Athena Boras in 1956.   Louis worked in the food service industry during his entire professional life, initially with national companies such as Interstate United and Aramark.  In 1979, he fulfilled his dream to call his own shots with the acquisition of The Washington Crossing Inn in Bucks County, PA.   After a successful 17-year run with the Inn, it was sold in 1996.  Retirement awaited Louis in Galloway, NJ, and he ultimately moved into the New Jersey Veterans Memorial Home in Vineland, NJ in 2017 which provided outstanding and loving care.  Louis was a two-time cancer survivor combining chemotherapy and radiation with a relentless attitude that he would beat these diseases.  Louis’ passions were the music of Elvis Presley, his precious dog “Rambo” and spending as much time as possible with his children and grandchildren hosting special birthday parties and holiday events with family.
