Maria Sofianidis

Maria Sofianidis peacefully passed away on Saturday June 22nd, 2024 surrounded by her loving family.  Maria was born on September 4, 1940 in Katerini, Greece to Stella and Stamatis Kapasakalis.  She was a devoted wife to Iraklis Sofianidis and loving mother to Stamatoula and John.  She also loved and cherished her five grandchildren (Michael, Maria, Dimitrios, Alex, and Vasia).  For those who knew Maria, or Maritsa, always spoke of her outgoing personality, her willingness to help others, and never forget her laughter.  She was a devoted homemaker and her families well being always came first.  She will be in our hearts forever.  Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 10:30-11am Thursday June 27, 2024 at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 229 Powell Ln., Upper Darby, PA 19082.  Her funeral service will begin promptly at 11am.  Interment to follow in Fernwood Cemetery, Lansdowne, PA 19050.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church.
