With sincere heartache and overwhelming sadness, we announce the passing of Maria Goumas on April 7, 2025. Born December 10, 1961 in Megalo Peristeri,Greece. She spent her early years raised in the village she adoringly reminisced about. She married her husband, Kosta, in September 1976 and soon after they moved to America. Maria had her first child, Billy, in 1978. A few years later, she gave birth to her daughter, Sophia. Maria was a talented cook, an avid gardener, and always a helping hand to anyone she knew.
Maria was the epitome of motherhood. She devoted her entire life to her family. Throughout her life, she was a pillar of strength and support for her family and friends. Her generosity extended beyond her immediate circle, as she was always ready to help neighbors and friends. Maria’s legacy of kindness, love, and generosity will be carried on by her husband(Gus), son(Billy), and daughter (Sophia).
Family and friends are invited to view 12 noon Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 229 Powell Ln., Upper Darby, PA 19082. Her Funeral service will begin promptly at 1pm. Interment to follow in SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
