Marianthi Christidis Nikolopoulos was born in Herseka, Albania, on May 5, 1929, daughter to the late Panagiotis and Ekaterini Christidis and beloved sister to her siblings Alexandros (deceased), Spiros (deceased), Christos (living in Thessaloniki Greece) & Alkmene (living in Wayne, PA). All were raised in Konitsa, Eperou, Greece during times of war and famine during WWII.
She met the love of her life, her beloved husband, the late Sotirios Nikolopoulos, and married on April 24, 1955 and had their first child, Peter, who was born in Konitsa Greece on April 6, 1956. They decided to leave their beloved Greece in search of a better life and immigrated to the United States on April 1963. Here they both sacrificed and endured many hardships seeking to achieve the American Dream. Seven years later, their second child, Peggy, who was born on May 7, 1970. After the passing of her beloved husband, Sotirios, on January 12, 2012, Marianthi struggled almost a decade with Alzheimer’s/Dementia and subsequently succumbed to the devastating effects of this brutal disease with both her children by her side til the very end having cared for her and sacrificing their lives just as their parents sacrificed their lives for them leaving behind a legacy of love that will eternally live on for their children, grandchildren and great-granhildren.
Marianthi is survived by her son Peter, his wife, Stella and their children: Maria, her husband Niko and their son, Peter; Eleni and her fiancé Mark. She is also survived by her daughter Peggy and her husband Welington Alexander; her Brother Christos Christidis & Family; her Sister, Alkmene Papakostas & family.

Friends and family are welcome to attend her viewing from 10am to 11am Friday, 4-9-21, at The Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation, 7921 Old York Rd, Elkins Park PA, 19027. Her Funeral Service will take place at 11am. Masks and social distancing protocols will be in force in the church. Interment will follow at Lawnview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in her name may be made to the church.
