Mary Kehyayan Obituary

Mary V. Kehyayan ( V. Igidbashian ) passed away on May 21, 2020 Thursday ( Ascension :  "HAMPARTSOUM" = " 40 th Day after Easter The RESURRECTION OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST).   At the age of 93 , due to medical complications and " Covid -- 19" in West Chester, PA.  Mary K. was born in the village of  "Gadarif", Khartoum, Sudan (East Africa). 

Mary was married in Cairo, Egypt to Vahe Papken  "Shant" Kehyayan ( deceased October 31, 2016) ;  Truly dedicated, dutiful and faithful wife of 64 years. She expressed loyalty to family, and true hearty immense love and care to her brothers, Nubar V. Igidbashian ( predeceased May 31, 2015) spouse Josephine ( Tutundjian). Brother Krikor V. Igidbashian (Spouse Rozaline) Calif:

 Aunt Mary " Hora Kouyre" ( father's sister entitled ) , To Vartan N. Igidbashian ( Lisa ), And Maggie N. Igidbashian ( Tim ) S. Berger. Great Aunt to Niece, and Nephews whom she adored in spoken Joy;  Godmother to Alex V. Igidbashian.  Mary lived in Cairo, Egypt for many years until moving to United States of America in 1970.  Members of St. Sahag and St. Mesrob Armenian Apostolic church, Wynnewood, PA.  Members of The Arabkir ( Armenia / Turkey border region )  Cultural Group, and The Tekeyan Cultural Group.   

Mary "Hora Kouyre",  truly enjoyed cooking our Armenian heritage culture foods, from soups to desserts..... she was Superb in all aspects of dishes. She learned from the best teachers in the family her mother Vartouhie ( Lussinian-- Igidbashian), and her aunt Sofie " Kergin" ( Lussinian  & Vaghenag L. Uncle also expert cook).   The kitchen was her theater and stage, SHE was the Conductor and Directed... singing, humming along as she cooked away with passion and Zeal, always in delicious outcome, of course Uncle "Shant" enjoyed, approved in glory!!  Even in her physically deformed stature she remained active in the kitchen like a " Ballerina" slowly pushing thru her many  physical areas of pain.

Mary had an impressive artistic talents in oil painting of nature and floral scenes.  Mary was skilled in assembling beautiful floral real, and silk arrangements.  In addition, Mary had a natural " Green Thumb" gardening was a must; indoors she had a " Magical" way of cultivating " African Violets" of many colors and sizes large groupings with great success, which is very difficult to grow and thrive.   Mary had an amazing eye for the colors within the "four seasons" of the calendar, shared often admiring outdoors driving,or thru a window Earth's Natural colorful Beauty.   She was a professional seamstress, one of her great talents was to do "Invisible mending" which is hard on the eyes, "( such as surgery on fabric)".  In the retail garment industry for 25 years was devoted to her product delivery on point perfection, and exercise best work ethics.    

Our aunt Mary " Hora Kouyre"  was a resilient, strong willed lady....through out the last couple of years she faced multiple medical issues, with each condition and circumstance she has conquered in deep strength and endurance.  Time and time again close tragically, but by the grace of God, in her determination she overcame triumphantly, she was always self driven to get past any hurdle that would have been in her way.  Even thru the last 30 days of her life with "Covid--19 " aware of her medical status & of a global virus she understood  thru our talks and TV. news; Aware of the huge lock down... She expressed in her loudest voice to go back to her safe place of comfort. Our aunt Mary persevered with all her great might..SHE clearly new & Voiced openly to be rescued with NO Avail.  

 In our God's Heavenly home may you our Aunt Mary ""Hora Kouyre" rest in peace, may you be embraced by your husband uncle "Shant".   May you be United with all our family loved ones in a higher " ANOUSH Festive Circle" .  Our Aunt Mary " Hora Kouyre"  one and only will not be forgotten, as you have said many times " I will be watching you thru God's Eyes from Above" ( in Armenian = " Ies Asdoudzo kove'doone ertam ne Asdoudzo achkerove tserin vera beedy naeem.")  Aunt Mary "Hora Kouyre" in her own mighty strong way she prevailed,  our family love is Eternal.......
