Nicholas Selimis was born to the late Nicholas Selimis and Kalliope Selimis on January 13, 1942 in Filiates Greece. He was the youngest of six children: Alexandros Selimis, Maria Makos, Konstantinos Selimis, Dimitri Selimis, and Vasiliki Selimis. He is survived by his brother Konstantinos Selimis, his two sisters Maria Makos and Vasiliki Selimis, his two children Kalliope Demetriades and Georgios Selimis, and his three grandchildren Zoe Demetriades, Eleni Demetriades, and Niko Selimis.
After serving in the Greek Navy and working as a plumber in Athens for a few years, he emigrated to the United States in the 1960s where he lived in the same neighborhood with his three brothers. He was a hard working plumber that practiced the trade until the age of 70. He was devoted to his family and his faith, and was loved and will be missed by many in the United States and his native country of Greece.
His viewing will be 10:30am-11:30am at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 229 Powell Lane, Upper Darby, PA 19082. Funeral Service to begin promptly at 11:30am. Interment Arlington Cemetery, Drexel Hill, PA 19026. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church.
