Nickolas Karabetsos Obituary

Nickolas George Karabetsos, 95, passed away on August 1. 2020. He was the adoring husband of Elaine for over 69 years. Nick leaves behind his two children George and Kathy  (Chris) Polites.  Nick’s family was everything to him always asking “how are the kids?” Nick was the doting Papou of Dean, Katina (Justin) Behm, Helena, Aris, Andrea (Anton) and Nick (Brittany.)  He is survived by his precious great grandchildren Owen, Augie, Delphi, Darla and the newest grandson, Jude  Karabetsos, who will carry on the family name.  Nick was always a ladies man in his church community. He told all the women he loved them but that he was only in love with one woman, his Elaine.  He was well known for the spiked punch he made every Christmas Eve at St. Luke. Nick had many talents growing up in Ishpeming, Michigan. He hunted with bow and arrow, loved to go ski jumping and golfing, was educated as an artist and was a musician all his life playing the drums when he served in the Coast Guard during WWII.  Nick was kind and gentle and loved by all that knew him.
