Nicolaos Argyropoulos

Nicholas Argyropoulos, 95, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and dedicated cobbler, passed peacefully on July 4, 2026.

 Born in Thessaloniki, Greece, Nicholas later immigrated to America to build a new life for his family.  He brought with him a relentless work ethic and warm, magnetic personality.  A true “People person,” he never met a stranger and could strike up a conversation with anyone.  He spent his entire life mastering the art of shoe repair, working devotedly as a cobbler until the remarkable age of 89.

Above all, he was a devoted family man.  His children will forever cherish memories of him taking the family down the shore.

To those who knew him, he was inspiring example at hard work, kindness, and dedication.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Maria.  His children Theodore, Vicky(Frank) and Sam, and his three grandchildren, Frank, Niko, and Alexis.  He also leaves behind his two sisters, Eliptha Ioannou, and Maria Argyropoulos.

Friends and family are welcome to attend his viewing from 10am to 11am, Thursday, at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 229 Powell Ln, Upper Darby, Pa 19082.  His funeral service will take place at 11am in the church.  His interment will follow the funeral service at Fernwood Cemetery.
