Nikolaos Mylonas Obituary

Nikolaos P. Mylonas passed away on January 6, 2022 from complications due to Covid-19.  He was 82 years old.

Nick was born in a village outside of Patras, Greece on January 5, 1940 as one of six children to Panagiotis and Barbara Mylonas. He apprenticed as an electrician during his teenage years in Greece. Nick immigrated to the United States in 1965, sponsored by his aunt and uncle Penny and Konstantinos Mellonas. He pursued his trade as an electrician, working on ships in the Philadelphia Navy Yard. Nick met his future bride, Pelagia (Koutsis) in 1969 and were married shortly after.  With the help of his uncle Konstantine, they opened Morton Pizza, which he ran with the help of his family for 35 years until retirement in 2003.

Nick spent many years volunteering at St. Demetrios Church, serving as a board member.  On an annual basis, he shared his skills as an electrician to set up the lights and electricity for the annual St, Demetrios spring festival. He supported his Greek heritage as an active member of The Peloponnesian Society.

He is survived by his loving wife Pelagia, daughter Barbara (Christos) and son, Charlie (Megan), grandchildren, Melina, Natalia, Charles and Catherine. He is also survived by his brother, Fotios (Sophia) and sister, Dina (Hristos), as well as his brother in laws, George and Elias.  He is predeceased by his brother George (Mary A.), sisters Martha and Christina.
