Niovi Pantelis Obituary

In Loving Memory of Niovi Pantelis

December 11, 1929 – July 6, 2025

With deep sadness and immense gratitude for her long and beautiful life, we announce the passing of Niovi Pantelis, who left this world peacefully on July 6, 2025, at the age of 95. A woman of quiet strength and enduring kindness, Niovi left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.

She was born in Cyprus in 1929 and immigrated to America in the early 1950’s, where she built a new life rooted in love, family, and faith. She now reunites in peace with her beloved husband, Christ Pantelis, whose memory she carried in her heart with enduring devotion.

Niovi had a natural grace in the way she lived and carried herself. She was thoughtful, composed, and deeply caring. Her presence brought comfort, and her gentle spirit created a sense of calm wherever she went.

For over 20 years, Niovi worked as a seamstress at Saks Fifth Avenue, where she was admired for her precision and dedication. Her colleagues often said she had “hands of gold.” At home, her sewing wasn’t just a skill—it was a selfless act of love, whether she was mending something small or making something beautiful from scratch.

Niovi was also known for her unmistakable sense of elegance – never overstated, but always present. It showed not just in how she dressed, but in how she spoke, how she listened, and how she treated others – with kindness, respect, and confidence. She had an effortless composure that never sought attention, yet always left an impression.

She was a constant source of strength to her family and a steady presence in their lives. Niovi is survived by her children, Vassiliki, Panteli, and Eleni (Peter); grandchildren, Elizabeth, Kristine, Georgine (TJ), Stephen (Eleni), Jaclyn, and Peter; and great-grandchildren, Andrew, Ava, Niko and Luca. Her legacy lives on in each of them. She is also survived by her brother Evangelos, sisters Stella and Vasoula and her many nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at 10:30 AM, followed by the funeral service at 11:30 AM, at St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Media, Pennsylvania. She will be laid to rest at Edgewood Memorial Park.

Niovi’s life was shaped by her faith, love for family, and quiet resilience. Though she is no longer with us, the values she passed down and the memories she created will remain in our hearts always.

May her memory be eternal.
