Panorea Kotsis Obituary

It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Panorea Kotsis on August 16, 2020 after her courageous battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis. Panorea was born on November 23, 1931 in Valtista Pogoniou Ioanninon, Greece to Stafanos and Aristoula Gianos and was one of 7 kids (Nicholas, Melpomeni, Sofia, Panagioti, Georgia, and George)

By invitation from her brother Nicholas, Panorea came to the United States in 1966 with her husband George and two kids, Nicholas and Georgia. As a family, they moved into Upper Darby and worked at New England Pizza. After many years of savings, they moved to Northeast Philadelphia and opened up their own restaurant, New Village Pizza, near Neshaminy Mall in Bensalem, PA which they owned and operated until 1986. Finally, as a family they opened up Original Village Pizza in Northeast Philadelphia, which they owned and operated for almost 31 years. Panorea loved her family first and foremost. She was always in the kitchen cook family meals and using every opportunity to bring the family together to celebrate. Panorea and her husband George were always helping their local community, especially local Greek Churches. Her generosity and kindness will never be forgotten.

Panorea is survived by her husband of nearly 72 years, George, son Nicholas (Ioanna), daughter Georgia (Anastasios) and four beloved grandchildren: George (Eleftheria), Dimitrios (Ethalia), Andreas, and Georgie; as well as 4 great grandchildren: Nicholas, Aggeliki, Ioanna and Katerina. Her entire family was truly her pride and joy. She is also survived by her brother Nicholas (Emorfia) as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and even more family in the United States and Greece.
