Paraskevi Sagos Obituary

Paraskevi (Vickie) Polakis Sagos, 60, passed away the morning of December 15, 2025 at 11:15am.

Paraskevi was born on February 21, 1965, in Athens, Greece, where she grew up and spent her early years. She carried her Greek roots with pride throughout her life, holding close the values of family, strength, and devotion.

As a devoted mother, she made sure her children always felt deeply loved—hosting the best birthday parties, taking them to Greek church events, GOYA gatherings, and basketball practices, and never missing a single Sight & Sound performance. She absolutely loved the church bid and buys and was always eager to support the church community. She would bake glyka late into the night and made certain that every friend left her home with something sweet before going home.

She is survived by her loving children, Vassiliki (Bessie) Sagos and Nicholaos Sagos, who were the center of her world, with their father, Ilias Sagos and by her brother Marios (Marisil). Paraskevi was a devoted mother whose love, sacrifices, and guidance shaped the lives of her children in countless ways.

Paraskevi faced illness and hardship for much of her life, yet she met every challenge with remarkable resilience and determination. Despite a difficult journey, she persevered with strength and grace, never allowing adversity to define her or diminish the love she gave to her children. She was a devoted and hardworking mother who always put her family first, finding a way forward even in the most trying moments. Known for her humor, her fiery and stubborn Greek spirit, and her unwavering will, Paraskevi was deeply loved by all who knew her. Paraskevi lived life on her own terms. She was resilient, fearless, and unwavering in her convictions—a woman whose strength could be felt the moment she entered a room. Her strength, warmth, and perseverance will remain an enduring part of her legacy.

Friends and family are welcome to attend her viewing from 10am to 11am, Friday, at Saint Demetrios, Greek Orthodox Church, 229 Powell Ln, Upper Darby, PA 19082. Her funeral service will take place at 11am in the church. Her interment will follow at Fernwood Cemetery in Upper Darby, PA 19082. Where she will be buried alongside her father and mother. In honor of Paraskevi's memory and in recognition of her courageous fight with cancer, memorial contributions may be made in her name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
