Penelope “Penny” Mitoulis passed away on January 1, 2026. She was born in 1932 a small village called Omali in Northern Greece. She was the first child of Grigorios and Kyriakoula Karamitopoulos. In her early childhood she relocated to the neighboring village of Tsotyli. It is there where she met and married her husband, George. In the 1950’s the two of them made the heroic decision to pursue the American dream. They arrived in the mid 1950’s and established themselves in the Greek Population of the greater Philadelphia area. She welcomed her first son, Constantine, in 1957 and welcomed her first daughter, Maria, in 1967. She served as a member and organizer of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church since the late 1960’s. Her involvement in the church and the ladies Philoptochos Society gave her a great source of strength and pride. She volunteered at every Greek festival. She was very proud of her family and Greek Heritage. Her passions were her family and Cooking and they both served and an integral part of what made her, Penny.
She is survived by her son Constantine and Grandson George Mitoulis, as well as many nieces, nephews and other relatives both here and Greece.
