Rose Christofas Poryzees

Rose Christofas Poryzees, age 98, passed quietly away in her sleep in hospice care in the early morning hours of Friday, February 25, 2022. Rose was born on April 11, 1923 in Philadelphia to John and Anna Christofas.  She graduated from Kensington HS in 1941.  In 1947 she married Emanuel Poryzees and had two children, Charles and Peter (deceased).  Rose lived, worked, and raised her family in Upper Darby.  She retired at age 93 after 27 years as the Tax Collector for the Upper Darby School District. Rose was actively involved in the Republican Party at both local and state levels for many years.  She was a member of The Order of Eastern Star, Optimists, and Business & Professional Woman organizations.  After retiring, Rose moved to Shannondell at Valley Forge to enjoy a new carefree life. Rose cherished time with her family and friends, and enjoyed cooking and reading.  She is survived by her son, Charles Poryzees (Cynthia) and grandchildren Benjamin Poryzees, Kass Poryzees and Anthony Sullivan. The family has requested private services.
