Samuel G. Shafer

Samuel (Sam) Shafer tragically passed away on Friday, February 12, 2021 at the young age of 43. He is survived by his loving wife Alexis (Dardovitch) and loving and devoted father to Zoey (5) and Eva (1). Sam is also survived by his parents Glenn and Dotti, brother Andrew (Stephanie) and Doug (Theresa). As well as many nieces and nephews.

Sam was born and raised in Drexel Hill along with his two brothers and later moved to West Grove with his wife of nearly 9 years.  Sam graduated from Upper Darby High School and later graduated with his Bachelor’s degree from West Chester University.  Later on, Sam became a devoted employee as the General Trades Manager at West Chester University.  He was also hard to miss on football Sunday’s in the Philadelphia Eagles endzone where he was part of the grounds crew for 14 seasons.

Sam had a larger than life personality.  He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially, at Jimmy Buffets concerts or on the beach in LBI.  But Sam’s greatest joy in life was being the best Daddy to two beautiful little girls.  He will truly be missed by his family and friends.

Friends and family are welcome to attend his viewing from 10am until 1pm Wednesday February 24, 2021 at Vraim Funeral Home, Inc.  66 S. State Rd. Upper Darby.  Following CDC guidelines, limited amount of people are allowed in the building at once so we encourage people to pay their respects and exit the building to allow as many people as possible to offer their condolences.  Masks must be worn and social distancing practiced inside the building.  HIs funeral service will be private for immediate family only but will be streamed online using the link below. Both the family and Funeral Home Staff thank you for your cooperation and understanding in this difficult time.
