Sean S. McGuire passed away after a long illness on Monday, May 5, surrounded by his family. He was 65 years old.
Sean was born on April 2, 1960 in Darby, Pa. He grew up in Drexel Hill and later lived in East Lansdowne and Upper Darby. At the time of his death, he was employed as a facilities manager at the Upper Darby School District.
Sean is survived by his sons, Brian and Ray; his siblings, Maureen (Mick Kulik), Denise (Tony Tuzio), Nancy Kleinberg (Don), Meghan (Bob Byrnes), Deirdre Donahue (Joe), Kerry Rachko (Jack), Molly Crilley (Jack) and Fran (Nancy); his former wife, Meg (nee Murtha); and dozens of nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, Jack and Nancy (nee Averill) and his nephew, Matt Kleinberg.
Family was foremost for Sean. He made it a point to call his siblings and nieces and nephews on birthdays and loved attending family functions. He made friends everywhere he went and kept in touch with all of them.
Sean was also an avid supporter of military veterans. He never failed to greet any veteran he happened to meet with, “Thanks for your service, sir.” For that reason, in lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Disabled American Veterans. https://www.dav.org/donate
Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Monday, May 12, at Vraim Funeral Home, 66 S. State Road, Upper Darby, Pa. from 10 am until noon. Burial to follow at St. Peter and Paul Cemetery.
