Sergei V. Trubin

Sergei V. Trubin passed away at his Bryn Mawr  Pa home on October 17, 2021 with his loving partner, Denise by his side. He was born in Volzhsky, Russia to Vitily and Tamara Trubin.

 At the age of 11, he began ballroom dancing, winning many prizes. After graduating from art school , He entered the Civil Engineering  University at the Faculty of Architecture.  He left after his third year to serve in the Special Forces in the Russian army for two years. When his tour ended, he entered the University of Culture.

 It was Sergei's passion for dancing that lead him to become a popular ballroom dance teacher and an exceptional dancer, himself. Upon moving to the United States in 1998, he shared his talent with his many students over the years. Sergei lived in the United States for 23 years. and became a citizen in 2013. 

Sergei was a professional Latin American finalist in Russia, Italy France, Greece and the USA. He touched everyone's lives and made them feel special. He showed up when it mattered, had your back, gave to those in need and would defend his loved ones. A perfectionist in his craft, he was always smiling, always on the dance floor with his students and always a gentleman.

Sergei and Denise were together for 15 years and worked as a team. Through her generosity and support, together they built their house  in the mountains, which was his dream to have one day. Sergei called Denise a strong, amazing sensitive women who complemented him perfectly . 

The  loss to Denise, his family, and friends is immeasurable. His memory will be forever cherished. He is survived by his partner,  Denise Hompe of Bryn Mawr , his Mother, Tamara Trubina, and his brother Victor, both of Russia. 

Friends and family are welcome to attend his visitation from 10am to 11am on Friday, October 29, at St. Luke Greek Orthodox Church. 35 N. Malin Rd. Broomall, PA 19008.  His funeral service will be at 11am in the church. His interment will follow at St. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
