Stefanos Papadopoulos passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2020. Stefano was born September 26, 1932 in Thessaloniki Greece. He was preceded in death by his parents Emmanouil (1899-1972) and Maria (1900-1982) and his brother Apostolos (1929-2020). Stefanos is survived by his beloved wife Mary of 58 years, his sons Emmanuel (Barbara) and Elias (fiancée Leonora), his grandchildren Stefanos, Athanasia, Stefanos and Antoni.
Stefanos was a compassionate, kind and hard-working man. He had a successful home goods wholesale business in Thessaloniki Greece. He came to America with his wife in 1987 to support their sons who were studying in college. He was a dedicated family man - his sons and their families were at the center of his life. He was happiest when he was with his 4 grandchildren whom he adored. Stefano loved to travel to his hometown in Greece every year with his wife. He spend many summers in Halkidiki Greece on the beach with his grandchildren.
We will all treasure Stefanos’ wonderful stories about his adventures and experiences in life, his love of Greece, love of family and kindness. He was loved by many and will be missed by all.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 229 Powell Ln, Upper Darby, PA 19082.
A private Funeral Service will be held at St. Demetrios on January 04, 2021 for the family. Friends are welcome to attend the interment at Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery, 1600 S Sproul Rd, Springfield, PA 19064, about 12:15 pm on January 4th. Section 21. Make the first left once you have entered the main gates of the cemetery and the grave will be on your right side.
