After a long battle with cancer, Styliani “Stella” Varvarezis, 72, died peacefully on July 25,2020 in her home in Broomall, Pennsylvania, surrounded by family and friends.
Stella was born in November 1947 in Sternes, Crete, Greece. She is the daughter of George Tsatsakis and Katerina Frangethakis. Her childhood was spent in Crete until her marriage to Constantine Varvarezis in 1967. Stella immigrated to Canada with her husband before settling in the United States. Constantine and Stella made a home in Broomall, Pennsylvania where they worked, lived, and raised six children. Stella worked as a seamstress for popular fashion labels and military uniform clothiers, as well as an assembler and later as a jewelry sales associate, prior to retiring.
Stella is survived by her husband Constantine, their six children Venetia Conroy (Patrick), Elias Varvarezis (Melissa), George Varvarezis (the lateKimberly), Katherine Filano (Joseph), Panayiotis Varvarezis (Joseph), and Evangelos Varvarezis (Juli), and eleven grandchildren: Cassandra Conroy, Athena Varvarezis, Stella LaRue (Robert), Joseph Filano, Douglas Conroy, Zoe Varvarezis, Rosemarie Filano, Madison Varvarezis, Constantine Varvarezis, Richard Conroy, and Isabella Varvarezis.
Services for Stella will be held at St. Luke’s Greek Orthodox Church 35 N Malin Rd, Broomall, PA 19008. The viewing will be from 10:00 am – 11:00 am, following with service at 11:00 am. The burial will be at Glenwood Memorial Gardens, also in Broomall, Pennsylvania.
In the interest of everyone's safety, a face mask is mandatory upon entering the church. The pews are arranged according to social distancing guidelines. And Contact with the family is asked to be avoided. A Memorial luncheon will be held at a later date. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
