Tina Lascarides Paninos
Tina Paninos (b. March 1, 1937) reposed in the Lord at the age of 88, amidst the love and care of her family.
Tina was born and raised in the South New Jersey town of Salem, near the confluence of the Delaware and Salem Rivers. She and her sisters were blessed with strong family roots. With loving parents, the girls all pitched in at the family business, Jim’s Goodies, a town centerpiece, offering homemade candies, treats and soda fountain on the friendly main boulevard near the high school, and thriving small town community. In 1955 Tina graduated from Salem High School. She had a readiness to discuss anything, an avid reader, and talented artist. During these years Tina summered with her family in Wildwood NJ.
Not long after graduation, Tina met the love of her life, Stephen Paninos, and wed in 1957, beginning a long and beautiful marriage of 66 years. Together they built a warm and radiant home life in Drexel Hill Pennsylvania, raising their three children, and welcomed family and friends who regularly gathered around the table for her lovingly prepared homecooked meals. Tina was devoted to the Church and Greek community, serving on the Philoptochos Society, Coffee Hour Committee, a long-time member of the Pan-Macedonian Society, and Daughters of Penelope. Tina had many friends and was sweet about keeping in touch with each and every one, no matter the miles that separated them over the years. She had an artistic spirit, enjoyed painting, loved music, and especially loved to dance.
She is predeceased by her parents Demetrios (Jim) Lascarides, and Anna Karamaounas Lascarides, her twin sister Chrisanthe (Seiss), her older sister Vasiliki (Becky Leventelis), and her best friend and husband, Stephen A. Paninos.
She is survived by her beloved children, Gregory (Lisa) Paninos, Mark (Keri) Paninos, Christine (Fr. Anthony) Salzman; her grandchildren Andrew Paninos, Jason Paninos, Stephanos Salzman (Anastasia), Maximos Salzman, Elianna Paninos, Kiara Paninos, Chrysanthi Paninos, and Alexander Paninos; as well as 3 great grandchildren, Amalia Salzman, Lucas Paninos and Silas Salzman.
Friends and family are welcome to attend her viewing from 10:00 -11:00 AM and Funeral beginning at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at St. Luke Greek Orthodox Church, 35 N Malin Road, Broomall PA 19008. Her interment will be in Watkinsville, Georgia at Oconee Memorial Park a few days later to lay in rest next to her “Stevie”.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations in Tina’s name be made to St. Philothea Greek Orthodox Church, 3761 Mars Hill Road, Watkinsville GA 30677.
