Varduhi Markosyan

Varduhi Markosyan, age 92, of West Chester, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, March 2nd, 2025. She was born in Patras, Greece, on August 1st, 1932, to the late Aram and Maritsa Kosoyan. Varduhi formed lasting friendships that she cherished throughout her life.

In 1947, her family moved from Greece to Armenia, where she later married the late Vrezh Kafalmazyan and settled in Yerevan, Armenia. Together they built a loving home and a life full of joy and memories. In the 1990s, she moved to the USA and settled in Upper Darby and later in West Chester. Varduhi (also known as Rosi) made new friends wherever she went and cultivated lasting friendships in the Greek and Armenian communities.

Varduhi was preceded in death by her husband, Vrezh, her son, Khachik Kafalmazyan, and her daughter, Siranush Kafalmazyan. She is survived by her two children, Hovik Kafalamazyan and Siranush Gevorgyan. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Tigran, Inga, Vahe, David, Arevik, and Arman. In addition, she is survived by nine great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in peace.

Family and friends are invited to view from 10-11am Wednesday March 5, 2025 at St. Sahag and St. Mesrob Armenian Apostolic Church, 630 Clothier Road, Wynnewood, PA 19096.  Her funeral service will begin PROMPTLY at 11am. Interment to follow in  Arlington Cemetery, 2900 State Road, Drexel Hill, PA 19026.
